The Washington Post: A Texas-Size Injustice On Abortion

Not since the issue of slavery has such a support for an injustice been eminent.
Currently, approximately 25% of the world population lives in many countries (mainly in Africa, Latin America and Asia) with highly restrictive laws that either ban abortion entirely or permit it only to save the life of the pregnant women. These restrictive abortion laws violate women's human rights based on agreements made at the UN International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo, the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

Dr. Martin Luther King and the Social Injustice of Abortion

One that has been greatly visible in the media today is that of abortion.
I became suspicious of the motivation behind PPH awards and grants while investigating the so called MLK acceptance speech for the PPH Maggie Award. Uncle MLK didn’t write the speech, didn’t attend the ceremony, and didn’t believe that abortion was a civil right. Mrs. Laura Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush are prochoice. Their presidential husbands are prolife. Same with Mrs. Coretta Scott King and MLK. Coretta Scott King was prochoice in favor of a woman’s right to choose abortion. She accepted the Maggie Award instead of her husband. MLK was prolife.

There are plans next week to introduce a bill before the NSW Parliament that will make abortion legal right up to the moment of birth.
Poverty though a factor is not what drives the world’s highest rates of abortion. Poverty is related incidentally to economics. The worlds greatest exporter and fastest growing economy China has over 9 million abortions per year. The next highest rates the US and Russia at 1.5 million per year are either on the upper tier of exporting nations [the US second Germany third] or are major industrialized nations as is Russia at 1.5 million abortions per year equal to the US. Germany’s rate is considered well over 100,000 per year and rising, is among the highest in Europe followed by other northern wealthier European nations. Following in overall stats is the International Planned Parenthood Federation with over 1 million. The shift from a largely religious oriented global populace influenced by Western values to a neo Marxist materialism with emphasis on economic power translated into higher quality of life is the driving force. That coupled with the despiritualization of human sexuality and trend toward eroticism. Human love now has little to do with commitment and children. Rather ease of life and pleasure are the dominant values. The only viable reversal to the growing deluge of murdering infants is spiritual conversion. The Catholic Church has the doctrine, message, personnel. It lacks the leadership. Vatican leadership is focused instead on climate control, immigration, equanimity of income and eradication of poverty, and most succinctly the devaluation of indissolubility of marriage and permanent family. A key factor in the sky rocketing global abortion rate.

Part 6 of Center for Medical Progress’ expose reveals more of PPH’s and StemExpress’ deceptive tactics. Their use of trickery to achieve political, financial, or legal purposes knows no limits. Consider this an open invitation for the first serious attempt to present a positive historical and sociological case for the claims that poverty is the root cause of abortion, and that increased government social programs are the solution. Were this to be attempted, it should be considered a welcome development, an opportunity to discuss how best to end assaults on innocent born and unborn persons, and toward growing what is already a vast and diverse attempt to do so—the pro-life movement.
